Punxsutawney Borough Police filed criminal charges including endangering the welfare of a child against a Punxsutawney couple following an investigation after a report of a physical altercation in Punxsutawney.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, the incident occurred in May of last year when police were dispatched to a residence on Sycamore Street for a report of a domestic dispute.
The woman said her husband allegedly threw a cell phone at her during an argument and the man allegedly told police two of his children had witnessed him get physical with the woman.
Police say they noticed a foul smell coming from inside the residence and investigated. They allegedly found garbage and dirt throughout the residence and contacted CYS to do a follow-up due to the conditions the children were living in.
A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 9.

A 27-year-old Worthville man is facing charges after he was caught with multiple stolen items in his truck in Winslow Township of Jefferson County.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, State Police in Dubois received information on Jan. 14 that a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle related to multiple thefts in and around Sykesville was parked near Reeds Dam in Winslow Township.
Police found the vehicle and observed numerous items in the truck bed that were identified as stolen items including a chainsaw and two iPhones. Police took the man into custody.
A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 26.

A 29-year-old Reynoldsville woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in Winslow Township of Jefferson County on Jan. 22.
State Police in DuBois say they responded to a location along Vo Tech Road in Winslow Township to assist Jefferson County Probation.
While on the scene troopers and the probation officer located drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
The investigation is ongoing.

Police have released the details of a one-vehicle crash on Route 219 that injured two teens earlier this month.
Sate Police in DuBois say, the accident happened just after 1 pm Jan. 3 on Route 219 just east of Walburn Run road in Snyder Township of Jefferson County.
Two teens one from Brockport and one from Brockway were injured in the accident. Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered roadway and hit a utility pole.
Both teens were wearing seatbelts and sustained suspected minor injuries. One was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Brockway Area Ambulance Service.
Brockway Fire Department assisted at the scene. The driver was cited for speeding.

State Police arrested two people after an altercation in Pine Township of Indiana county last Wednesday.
Troopers say they responded to a residence along Country Meadows Lane for a reported domestic dispute between a 52-year-old Strongstown woman and her 21-year-old daughter.
The daughter was taken to Indiana County Jail to await arraignment on simple assault and harassment charges while harassment charges have been filed against the older woman.
