Coach Mike Tomlin declined to confirm Justin Fields as the backup or Russell Wilson as the starter for the Steelers’ upcoming game against the New York Giants.
At a press conference, Tomlin mentioned that Wilson is set to take first-team reps in practice but did not commit to him starting. Last week, Tomlin similarly withheld a decision until game time, despite Wilson taking first-team snaps in practice before the Steelers’ 37-15 win.
Week Eight begins with the Vikings in Los Angles to take on the Rams on Thursday Night Football. The Steelers will host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
