The nurses at Indiana Regional Medical Center have voted to have a new union represent them at the bargaining table.
The registered nurses held an election Wednesday night to name PA Staff Nurses Allied Professionals as the new union by a vote of 224 in favor, with eight votes against it. This means the union would be the exclusive bargaining representative in the ongoing discussions concerning a new contract.
In the past, the nurses were represented by PSEA-Healthcare. The nurses have been working without a contract for the last five years.
