There may be new life for the old Monroeville Mall…
The developer that just bought the Monroeville Mall plans to make it a destination complex with retail, entertainment, restaurants, hospitality and office spaces. Officials with Cypress Equities say the buyer plans to bring what they call a new vision to the mall, which opened in 1969 and was renovated in 2003.
Monroeville Mayor Nicholas Gresock says he’s optimistic the plans will have a very positive impact on the community. The mall was featured prominently in the 1978 film Dawn of the Dead.
