In a posting yesterday, IUP revealed that it has its first case of Covid-19 among the campus community.
The university said that it had been informed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health that a student residing in university housing tested positive for coronavirus and has been self-isolating for several days and following the required response protocol. The student has not attended any classes since the start of the semester on Monday.
The Department of Health is conducting contact tracing. Anyone who has had close contact with the student will be notified and advised what to do.
IUP has set aside 170 beds for the isolation of students who have tested positive.
