All three Punxsutawney fire departments responded to a skid steer fire involving hay bales at London Farm, located along Cloe Lake Road in Bell Township of Jefferson County Thursday afternoon.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, The driver had to escape through the front of the skid steer when they hay that was being transported caught fire – no injuries were reported.
Assistant Chief Doug McAfoos said the fire began under the seat of the skid steer, causing the round hay bale to catch fire.
McCalmont and Big Run fire departments also responded to the scene.

State Police in DuBois filed criminal charges against a Curwensville man who allegedly broke into a residence and threatened two victims over a hard drive that he said contained a pornographic video with him in it.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, police were called to a home along Beechtree Road in Washington Township on May 13 for a report of a man smashing things and arguing with the homeowners – the man was identified as 35-year-old Jesse Wade Himes.
The victims reportedly told police Himes threatened to kill them and burn the house down.
Himes allegedly admitted to threatening the victims, smashing an electric meter, and taking a gun from the residence – but the victims denied ownership of the gun.
Police found a gun, along with drugs and paraphernalia in Himes backpack. Authorities say ownership of the gun is pending and eTrace.
Himes was lodged in Jefferson County Jail.

State police have confirmed that one person died in a vehicle crash on Route 286 in Cherryhill Township of Indiana County on Thursday.
According to WCCSRadio.com, the victim has not been identified by name.
Police say the crash occurred when a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old man along Route 286, swerved to avoid hitting a disabled vehicle, crossed the center line, and collided with a Ram Pickup driven by 37-year-old Kenneth Yovich of Beaver.
After the initial impact, a sedan driven by an un-named 16-year-old girl from Dixonville that was behind Yovich’s truck also hit the Silverado as it spun on the roadway.
The driver of the Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene. Yovich was transported to IRMC for treatment of suspected minor injuries. A passenger in Yovich’s truck, and the two teens in the sedan were not hurt.

Police say a Punxsutawney man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 255 in Fox Township of Elk County Thursday afternoon.
Police say the accident happened on Route 255 and Million Dollar Highway around 3:40 pm when 29-year-old Brandon Burkett of Punxsutawney stuck another vehicle driven by 62-year-old William Gaberseck of Coudersport, from behind while it was stopped at red light.
Burkett suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands Elk by Fox Township Ambulance.
Gaberseck was not injured.
